Both Leipzig and Prague are cities with a vivid art scene that is affected by post-socialist transformation. Struggles about the interpretation of history and forms of remembrance are subjects that connect people, just like precarious artistic production and patriarchal structures. Social exclusion, racism, the increasing gap between rich and poor, the state´s withdrawal from social responsibility and the awakening of nationalist movements, that have never been vanished, link both countries.
Until today the relationship between the Czech Republic and Germany is critical and regular subject to public discussions. The art scene in both cities is similar in disputing these aforementioned conditions and which is struck by them at the same time.
