God planted a garden in Eden, where to place man as its gardener. In human vision heaven can be nothing else than a garden, a place of perfect harmony, where to nourish body and spirit. The garden is the meeting point of civilization and nature, where man gives order to nature according to his needs and expectations. The role of the garden is so important to have transformed human essence itself. Agriculture made men effectively abandon nomadism, allowing the development of our civilization today.

It looks like a contradiction but it is not, because even where human life is at its farthest away from physical contact with the garden, the empathy is quickly renewed every time we go for a walk in New York´s Central Park, in Paris´ Bois de Boulogne, in Prague´s Stromovka. This empathy is also renewed in the symbolic purchase of organic food or in the farmers´markets. As the garden does not scare anybody, it is protected and protects, it contains nothing dangerous, aggressive nature has no place in it : only harmony. Still, rational man knows well that there is no perfect harmony, just the desire to strive for it, never to be achieved. Even in Eden the garden, despite his promises, was far from perfect: it contained the seeds of unrest expressed as a sense of loneliness, temptations and the forbidden fruit.
