The exhibition project A Manual of moments is dealing with the phenomena of travelling and personal desire to find unknown knowns. Its concept is inspired by the actual experience of both curators finding themselves for a longer period on a foreign land being on an internship abroad (Finland, USA). As its not easy to find the right way through life, our desire to get new experience drives us further and further.
Being in a strange surround often help us to gain new and fresh view upon our own situation, a new angle to look at things. Due to our journeys our ways are crossing other people fates, getting new shapes, directions, meaning and goals. The mutual aspect in the work of participating artist is a certain escape out of the known surround. Each of them however deals with this topic differently. The aim of this project is therefore to present different ways of travelling - mental roads, unrealised plans, searching for an ideal space, the desire to be part of things happening - generally speaking a movement or personal experience.
Moving from one place to another may represent for someone the barrier, for some other a feeling of liberation. Short escapes, which many of us regularly makes are inspiring moments, but may also be paralysing. As soon as we are back to the known surround, we fall into panics, of not been able to fulfil all the possibilities, but waste them. And just at this point it begins. Memories, experiences, repeated returns, which we want to share with everybody. We build new interpretations, make new meanings. Build new visions and new roads.
