Alice Nikitinová, the original and respectable artist, asked me to introduce the triple exhibition, with other two artists involved. We both find the artistsin some aspect related, but working with different media. They are connected by a fact that they work with a particular relation between abstract form and its refreshment by the most banal and real utilitarian objects within conceptual or post-conceptual construction. These object are sorted out from our „pragmatic“ world. According to this new situation the usage of a media is also being loosely changed, from tradition to untraditional.
Marius Lut modifies post-minimalistic wooden construction on the wall or the space by a wrapped black fabric and so he confronts strictness of geometry with a soft form. He even cites soft object (such as towel or piece of a picture) in this new artificial space. He is also radical within his paintings, black monochromes remains undone, always different somehow. With his approach he joins the actual debate about monochromy as one of the faces of contemporary conceptual thinking.
Metaphorically speaking,Magali Reus is a sculptor, but she changes the typical sculptural materials, oscillating from traditional media to videos. In her works we find geometric aluminous constructions with attached dislocated metal junctions or metal watches. But she can also paraphrase minimalistic forms by new intervention in the object (such as blue rubber tape or castings of taps). Silicon colorful sheets can be regarded as her own paraphrase of the monochromes. Videos are supposed to be a surprise of the show in Prague!
Alice Nikitinova entered the Czech art scene with a good coloristic education, but from the very beginning she annotates ambiguity of a picture as a reduction and a postmodern concept. But the most elementary is the still-growing ambivalence of semantics and the possibility not to identify the artwork and perceive it as a simple colorful surface (as we can see in a series of variation on banana boxes).
The tiny differences in their semantics are defined by the form of painter´s articulation. She connects different media in more delicate ways than the other participants, forexample by collages made of paper and painting. But she also presents her discoveries - common objects with little bit of lyric pictorial articulation.
Another participating artist MarchelRuijgrokchanges the space by his architecture, so the visitors can observe the works ina different way than they do normally. He does it in cooperation with the artists, it is always a dialogue. You can see the space divided into acute angles, which follow the works and lead the visitor, change and stimulate his focus.
I believe, that this is an unique meeting connecting four artists, who have mutual resource in a reflection of the most common things as well as in a an obviously new reflection of conceptual thinking.
